represents a triumphant championing of arts integration and personifies the synergistic energy that happens when the creative forces that make up the great output of the arts are coupled in holy matrimony. Something Old looks to the past to inform the future; Something New takes the present and reconciles its past; Something Borrowed looks to its neighbor for inspiration; Something Blue adds spice and splash!

Quietly nestled amongst Vivre Musicale’s Marriage of Mediums, this season draws musical and artistic propulsion through its presentation of the three great clarinet quintets by Weber, Mozart, and Brahms. These gems of the chamber music repertoire are coupled with the world-premiere of Ted Gellar’s Sketches in Realization for E-flat clarinet and string quartet, which looks to the clarinet quintet sub-genre for inspiration and motivation. It is through the Something Old, Something New; Something Borrowed, Something Blue where we’ll respectively hear Carl Maria von Weber, Ted Gellar, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Johannes Brahms along with other great composers! It is through these four paradigms, Vivre Musicale seeks to present a wide-reaching arch of beautiful music now betrothed to dynamic visual and performance artistry.

So journey with us! Come celebrate this Marriage of Mediums and toast a long and prosperous courtship!
