Christina Delgado, photographer
Raised in New York City and currently residing in Baltimore, MD, Ms. Delgado began teaching at Baltimore Lab School, a private school which uses an arts-based curriculum to teach children with learning differences. There she teaches high school art and photography. Much of the work she does with her students is extremely art intensive and encompasses a wide array of mediums such as large installations and community based art projects. Ms. Delgado has worked alongside many community art organizations in Baltimore, such as Art on Purpose, Young Audiences of Maryland, Wide Angle Youth Media, and Kennedy Kriger Family Center- Art Therapy Workshops.
Her passion is documentary photography. Currently she is developing an idea for a photo and short film documentary entitled, The B’s of Baltimore: Bus Stops, Barber Shops and Beauty Salons, showing the connection between such common places and the similar/different effects these places have on ethnic/socioeconomic groups in the Baltimore community. Through her innovative instruction and creative vision, Ms. Delgado’s students learn to see the world in a new, dynamic way and gain valuable insight into their own creative visions.
