Martiros Shakhzadyan, violin

Russian-born violinist Martiros Shakhzadyan has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals throughout the USA and Russia. Martiros is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the Collegiate Division of the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition and the CNYAMT Solo Competition. An avid chamber musician, he is a founding member of the award-winning Nubar Trio and has performed as first violinist and soloist with the Peabody Camerata. Martiros often collaborates with composers and has premiered many contemporary works. He frequently performs as a guest concertmaster, most recently with the Maryland Choral Society, performing the Washington, D.C. premiere of Arvo Pärt’s “Te Deum”. Martiros has also performed as assistant concertmaster with the Moscow Ballet Company. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music degree at the Peabody Conservatory in the studio of Violaine Melancon. He has also studied violin with Victor Danchenko and Vladimir Pritzker, and chamber music with Alexander Shtarkman, Marian Hahn and Robert van Sice.
