“Sensuality.  The pursuit and peril of physical pleasure.  This theme will be explored and defined through it’s association with the saxophone.  Offering the audience an in-depth (and at times unexpected) look into the sensual, this program is an exploration of sensuality itself, as well as it’s consequences and rewards.

The concert will feature the Baltimore/New York based AM/PM saxophone quartet (www.ampmsaxophonequartet.com) in various combination and settings, with a  program that will include the works of such composers as Astor Piazzolla, Ryu Noda, Jacob ter Vedhuis, Evan Chambers, and Vivre’s own Miguel Bolivar; each composition focusing on an specific aspect of the sensual.    Mai will start the program with a musical realization of one man’s tireless pursuit of love.  Tangos by Piazzolla will display the raw, untamed physical pleasure’s of the flesh.  Then, the various consequences to these pursuits will be heard in the pieces Heartbreakers and Come Down Heavy!

Finishing out the program will be a very special and personal work by Miguel Bolivar that ties in the themes presented thus far in the program.  It is the culmination and representation of the intense lust, love and physical pleasure that we all desire.

In addition to stimulating the aural senses, the concert will be coupled with a reception of chocolate and wine to titillate the taste buds and augment the after-concert experience into the sensual.”
