Internships

Vivre Musicale, Inc. (VM) seeks interns year round to assist with its logistic and artistic endeavors. As a burgeoning grassroots chamber music collective, VM is a uniquely qualified place to gain a wide range of experience and practical skills in arts administration, nonprofit development, and community building. With the beginning of our 2012/13 season, we will offer both full and part-time unpaid internships in the following areas: Artistic Development, Marketing & Publicity, Educational Outreach, and Development & Community Engagement.

What you will do:

Selected interns will work closely with either the director(s) or committee chair of their respective division. Interns will research requested materials such as potential grants, venues, artists, etc., work collaboratively or independently within the organization in order to complete assigned projects in a timely manner, serve as a liaison between Vivre Musicale, Inc. and potential collaborators, and more.

 What you will gain:

You will gain a general understanding of a specific area related to the governance, organization, and administration of a grassroots nonprofit arts organization while gaining valuable leadership skills under the mentoring of our hard-working, dedicated leadership. You will help to build connections, develop careers, and create meaningful artistic experiences for the communities which we serve.

How to apply:

To be considered for the internship program, Vivre Musicale requires the following materials:

  • Cover letter that states: Availability, Internship preference (Artistic Development, Marketing & Publicity, Educational Outreach, Development & Community Engagement ), artistic skills (if any),  what you hope to gain from an internship experience at VM
  • Resume that includes relevant coursework
  • Writing sample (2-3 pages maximum) Discussing a current topic related to your internship preference and the arts community

  • May 1st for the 2012/13 Season
**Unfortunately, VM cannot offer financial compensation to interns; however, the Vivre Musicale staff is willing to assist interns on independent projects in order to receive academic credit.

We are looking for art enthusiasts to come out and support the arts by volunteering their time and talents.
